KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA DRDO COMPLEX  C.V.RAMAN NAGAR BANGALORE

Teaching once upon a time was understood as only an art. With research evidences being available now to structure it,it has to be viewed in the direction that it is scientific in nature. The challenges of the modern world as emerged from a global approach of scientific knowledge, democratic ideas and demands on personality require that teaching methodology must undergo revolutionary changes to meet the new aspirations and needs of the society. In fact, teacher must be “all things” to all his pupils— a physician concerned about their physical health, a mental hygienist leading them to sound mental health, a philosopher guiding them in their search for truth, a morality encouraging them to acquire goodness, a minister ministering to their every need. A teacher in relation to pupils, has to act essentially as a friend, philosopher and guide.

A good teacher, like a good doctor , is one who adds creativity and inspiration to the basic repertoire. His teachinginvolves a repertoire of techniques, procedures and skills that can be systematically studied and improved. It calls for exercise of talent and creativity in the student.
